Hello, I'm Terri!
I am currently a history teacher in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, where I have had the pleasure of serving as a curriculum writer, grade-level leader, Unsung Hero, Google DLP Leader, Instructional Facilitator of Professional Development, and an advocate for technology and relevant learning. I hope to obtain a career in which I can utilize my Bachelors in Social Sciences and Masters Degree in Learning Technologies collectively, hopefully while remaining in an educator type role. As an educator, I use technology to create engaging classroom experiences, to teach 21st century skills, and to scaffold to all learners in meaningful ways. I love being able to find new ways to integrate relevant and effective technology in my classroom and with my colleagues. Overall, my passion, enthusiasm, commitment, diligence, and leadership abilities will serve as an asset to any team.

WRITING SAMPLES
Game Based Learning on Generation Z
This paper discusses the benefits of game-based learning to engage current learners, known as Generation Z. In this work I was able to fully understand the mindset of learners today and how they best learn. This understanding of Generation Z learners has encouraged me to use more technology in my own class, such as Game-Based learning! This study helped me realize the importance of intentionality when implementing technology into instruction, and how to not use technology just for the sake of it.
PBL or Traditional Learning?
Education today is becoming more progressive and less traditional. This document assesses PBL and traditional learning and how students respond to both styles of learning. As an educator I have learned that you do not have to be completely one-sided in teaching, rather you can have both traditional and PBL in a balanced way in which students will respond to. This study allowed me to see that students were responsive to both styles of learning but in the long-run were more open to traditional learning than PBL.
